I agree, but the gallery for this software is not all that simple to use, prob why it was harldy used. I am looking into whether there are any plugins to make it easier.

Kewl thanks for the response Collie. I hope more people will utilize it because it's a far easier way for all Moonies to reminisce the campouts. I sure would utilize it to show pics of others and alls' kewl buses

Yep 13 turns is ok. Putting back by number of turns is just a general guide to get it close assuming it was aligned correctly before you started.

If you don't get up with Ronnie, hit up Shaun on the Riviera thread. He's got one up in Easley. Both super cool guys.

The used market is pretty much the same. The average is $300-$450 for used. They can be found cheaper but, most people know the going price. The condition is used so mileage makes little difference. It can have 50,000 but, if it was hard miles then it's no better than a trans with 300,000 if those miles were smooth roads and the fluids changed regularly. With old buses mainly junker the true mileage is usually unknown. If you are looking for a sure thing you may want to try a rebuild and just for your knowledge that doesn't mean that will be right either.
So some friendly advice.
If you want a rebuilt one get Mark. I use him for rebuilt transmissions and had great results.
If you go used and knowing used is a crap shoot go with someone you trust so if it is bad you know they will atleast stand behind it and take care of you if it isn't good.

Good luck.

Local tranny turned out to be a 3rib 002, darn surprising how many vw people don't know what they have. The search continues.

The 3 rib will work if you change bell housings... I don`t reccomend this because I did it and the bus won`t cruise as fast. I now have the 5 rib in the bus.
