Does anyone know if there will be another Blue Ridge Bus Tour later in the year?

Yep 13 turns is ok. Putting back by number of turns is just a general guide to get it close assuming it was aligned correctly before you started.

I have about 800 miles on this engine, I don't go on long trips with it, just drive it around town. On hot days, after about five miles (to machine shop and back) on the last few turns, the light and buzzer will come on. I feel it is truly low oil pressure, but how do I solve the problem. I have tried a spacer under the bypass spring, it raised it some,)Takes it longer to come on) but how much can I shim the spring? and will it help the problem. This engine has the regular 26mm oil pump on it I was thinking about going to the 30mm pump, would that help? On the old bugs we used to put a stronger spring in the relief valve, do they make a kit for this engine, or can you use the one for the bug?

Remove the shim, put in the bigger pump, and let her rip.

Hey Bear ,
Does it have the correct dynamic oil switch in it?
What is it 1.3 bar vs. 1.8 bar I think?

When I get to where I can get on the ground, I'll put a pressure gage on it, got the set up ready, just can't do anything but look at it. If I get down I can't get back up by myself, have to crawl to a chair and pull myself up. When I get the pressure gage on it, what should it read, at what RPM's , is there a chart??

I guess when I get my 88 fixed so I can drive it, I'll be pulling the oil pump and replacing it with a H.D one, on the 91, and hopefully that will cure the oil pressure problem. Putting the shim under the spring did raise the pressure some, but not enough. I still want to connect up the pressure gage to it, just to see what it is doing.

Well, I got the Engine Coolant Tee, changed on the 88, what a mess, all the clamps were in the wrong position for ground removal, I found the leak, but had all the hoses off, so I changed it anyway (the top hose clamp was loose) When I got to the last hose on the tee, it was loose. Oh well, I have a new one in place now and it will last a long time. It only took me all day to do a one hour job. Now that this one is up and running I can work on the 91.
