Does anyone know if there will be another Blue Ridge Bus Tour later in the year?

Yep 13 turns is ok. Putting back by number of turns is just a general guide to get it close assuming it was aligned correctly before you started.

Hey all, some of you know that I have struggled with alcohol for over 20 years and last summer I got myself in a heap of trouble because of it. Well, as of today at 5:40pm I have been sober for a year.

They say that only 3-5% of alcoholics make it to the one year mark.

Yes, its that hard.

So, kudos to me and see you all around a fire sometime soon!

Congrats man! I have had a few bad spills in the last ten years as well that made me think about not drinking. I slowed down. I aint ready for total sobriety yet. Hard for me to go past a week. Glad you made your goal! Stay with it!!

Hey, thanks guys, its nice to know there are "others" out there as thats been one of my vices in the last year. I have NOT been camping in about 2 years, mostly because I dont have a bus anymore (long alcohol related story) and the fact that every campout is (was) too much of a temptation for me.

I did go to Jimmy Buffett concert in May and that was my first BIG event where booze flowed like water and I didnt have a problem with it. I was shocked at myself. Then i spent the day at Natural Bus this year and no problem again, so I think I will make 2013 a camping year...

OBC, I went to look at a 1986 Vanagon this week, it is solid as a rock but doesnt run.....I can get it for $250...but I just dont know the first thing about the watercooled things...haha

I can still camp in my Land Rover right?

Collie that is awesome! You don't need alcohol to have a good time. Although I do have one or two cans I can just as well do without it. Gaterade is pretty good Your situation and others is a good reminder that some struggle with the problem and temptation so it is a loving act for the rest of us not push you to just have one. I applaud you and all those who struggle to stay sober!! Great job!!

10 years here. Liquor never flows at the coffee-bus. I guess that is why we are only popular in the morning, but oh well.

I think this makes my 27th year sober. I have camped with the FMBC for 13 years now and have not touched a drop of booze. Like Jeffrey said, I am more popular early in the morning. I guess it really hit home for me this year when I went to the Rainbow Festival and there was no drinking. There was a lot of other stuff but everyone seemed to have a great time without the booze. To each their own though. If you can handle drinking, go for it. Everyone has to do their own deal. I can tell you from personal experience that you are through the hardest part if you made it a year. Congratulations. I do miss the dancing though. I was a great drunk dancer.
Boyd

Congrats Collie!!! While it's not been my issue, I've definitely been around it . . . . Take strength from those who offer, and always take on day at a time . . . . sounds like you are doing great and on your way to make more milestones!
