Does anyone know if there will be another Blue Ridge Bus Tour later in the year?

Yep 13 turns is ok. Putting back by number of turns is just a general guide to get it close assuming it was aligned correctly before you started.

Hey folks,
I think I may need a new starter.

I'm considering 3 options.
1. buy a NEW starter.
2. Get my current starter rebuilt (I've been quoted $100)
3. Rebuild my starter.

Potential: I am not rich at the moment. (or ever) So even $100 is to rebuild is a bit rough.

My starter does spin currently, it's just really damn slow, even with a jump from another car. I went over all of my connections and cleaned all of the terminals. It made a very small difference.

I hate not knowing IF she'll start .

This is one of those times I wish I was in the US. I found a starter at AutoZone for $40 when I was down there....Then again, that $40 starter is dead.

What would you do? I don't know how to rebuild a starter, so that option may not be so shit hot.

1968 VW Bus, was a westy, now it's its own bus.

$100 is high for a rebuild. shop here does 75 but I have bought reman units from the flaps for less.

WHATS IMPORTANT is, if the bushing that goes in the tranny is bad or missing the starter rotor will be out of alignment and that robs torque and speed.

So before buying a starter check the $2 bushing

Had too many vans to count
