Does anyone know if there will be another Blue Ridge Bus Tour later in the year?

Yep 13 turns is ok. Putting back by number of turns is just a general guide to get it close assuming it was aligned correctly before you started.

That is great news. Not that he had surgery but that he came through it okay. Royce is a great guy. We need him around for a long time.

I got a call from Kenneth Moody and he told me Royce had called him and he should be coming home today! I'm sure he will be glad to be back at home.

This is Debbie, Royce's wife. He ask me to please let everyone know how much we appreciate your prayers, calls, emails and words of encouragement. We are sorry that we've not been able to contact each and every one of you but everything happened so fast & time was crucial. Week before last Royce had gone to help our bus friend, Kenneth Moody take down a couple of trees for firewood. The walk up and down a very steep hillside caused Royce to have severe shortness of breath. The next day he pruned a few small fruit trees at our house and had the shortness of breath again. He knew he had never experienced that before. He called our cardiologist, Dr. Byron Williams office and he had him come in for a treadmill stress test, sonogram, ekg, and other tests. The tests showed that everything seemed normal with the exception of a little shaded area of a small artery on the back side of his heart. The doctor was not satisfied with the conclusion and sent Royce to Emory Midtown Hospital in Atlanta. He had a heart catherization last Tuesday at 11 am. It told the story. The mentioned shaded artery was nothing but the arteries on the front of his heart which are refered to as "the Widowmaker" had an 80% blockage. He was prepped for surgery on Wednesday. Scheduled for noon, then 3:00 pm, finally the surgery took place around 7:00 pm that night. There had been an emergency with a patient who needed the "best" surgeon there, the Chief of Cardiac Surgery, Royce's surgeon, Dr. John Paskus, Dr. Williams's choice to perform Royce's operation. We were told by the staff that he only operates on cases that the other doctors will not attempt. That was encouraging. Royce's surgery was over around midnight on Wednesday. He was in CICU until Friday and then moved back to the regular cardiac floor. We've learned that had Royce ignored the "shortness of breath" denying it occurred, the artery in time would have closed the other 20% and he would have died within 5 minutes. That is why they call it the "Widowmaker". I brought him home on yesterday afternoon. He is doing well, slow but well. So, Royce's plea to everyone is to listen to your body, heed the warning signs and symptoms that could result in a sudden, fatal heart attack, with no hope of survival. We are so blessed and thank God for every breath, especially the ones that come to warn us of pending danger. Again, we thank you, and cherish our friendships with those who we may not see often but know that you are there. May God bless each and every one of you.

I am so glad to hear that this was caught in time. Stressful and scary BUT at least Brother Royce is still with us.

That's great. I knew Byron Williams and the cardiology crew when I trained at Emory. They are top notch.

Get well soon, glad you showed the "Widowmaker" where to go, you are not ready for her. Now you will be able to leap over tall buildings without getting short of breath. Way to go Royce.
