Kewl thanks for the response Collie. I hope more people will utilize it because it's a far easier way for all Moonies to reminisce the campouts. I sure would utilize it to show pics of others and alls' kewl buses

Yep 13 turns is ok. Putting back by number of turns is just a general guide to get it close assuming it was aligned correctly before you started.

I see Bus Chain Gang at Convict Springs is on the calender. (I should just cut and paste from last year). http://fullmoonbusclub.com/e107_plugins/calendar_menu/event.php?1296194400.event.30
From calender
"Getting to be that time again. A little winter camping in N. Fla! Hope to see you all there! Camground is dog friendly and we pretty much own the place in late Jan. The newest owners seem to be moving things along. Come on down to the river and join us. Always a fun time at a beautiful location. Campgound's web site is:

Hoping this year is like the last two time we were there. The weather cooperated tremendously, very little if any rain, no coats required (and I get cold easy). Can't wait to see everyone there and have a great time. Need some good relaxing time. Perfect place and great time of the year.

Hi all,
I would love to make this campout this year. Where in the park do you camp? I would like to make my reseveration as soon as I can. I am hoping there is electric at the sites.

Awesome Jim,
I made my reservation. They have electric sites. We camp near the picnic shelter which is also where we will have the community fire pit and meals.

Hey Brian, it will be great to see you again. I don't want to rush the time by but I'm ready for the FL camping season. I am thinking of getting there early again this year.

I am ready for sure. We just finished moving out of the place with a big yard that I lived at for 11 years. Now we are in a smaller place, and there are many boxes laying around. Whether we get that done or not in 5+ weeks we will be camping.

Electrical outlets are pretty spread out at this place, I bring at least a hundred foot cord and a 3 way just in case.
I have never reserved either, usually there's only a few non moonies in the campground.
Hopefully the weather will be as nice as last time.

Gummy, glad you are going to make a campout in the US. Didn't you just get an engine built by Bear?
Reservation are not needed, I have been reserving the last few years to secure the spot near that lighted pavilion that we cook and eat at.
We usually do Breakfast Burritos Saturday morning, we target a serving time of between 9 and 10. I say we, we don't organize or nothing, who ever cooks whatever and we eat. The pavilion works out great for cooking also, we get to socialize while we cook. We also do a pot luck Saturday night. We attempt to be eating around 6pm. Sunday morning we take the easy way, we walk down to Aunt Suzies kitchen, the campground restaurant.
As far as firewood, I have a local deliver a trailer of wood for $100.00 for the group fire. Every year so far even when it was extremely cold and we needed a big fire most of the time we have had wood left over. Usually someone collects money for the wood and we usually get $100.00 donated plus or minus 10 bucks.

I should be there on Thursday, maybe even Wednesday night.

Cool thanks for the heads up. I have been to quite a few FMBC campouts, but like I said I have been in Germany for the past three years. But a good heads up on the firewood. I will bring plenty of everything. Incliding my retirement appetite. Steve

I may have to go to St Augustine for business, so whats the big draw for Convict Springs?

I see that its down river from Ginny Springs but isnt the water a tad cold in January? What the open container policy there?

Probably too cold to swim in the water, but good for boats, kayaks and canoes. It is a private campground, so it doesn't have all the rules the state ones have. You can have your container open or closed. They are allow pets. The biggest draw is your fellow VW bus folks, socializing around the fire and food. We pretty much make up most of the guest there this time of year. Sites are not rigidly defined so it allows for creative setups.

We're planning on coming. Proud to say that I haven't missed a Convict Springs campout yet. By the way, the cool weather means that the 74 degree springs feel warm this time of year -- you just have to get to them on the other side of the river. I'm bringing my kayak and fly rod.

Jill and I camped a night at Convict in July, I went for a dip in Convicts Springs, which is a stones throw from the campgrounds office as I am sure you know. It was very cold. Perhaps we should see about jumping in this year. Even that cold spring my feel warm compared to the outside temp.

Ive been watching the weather for Mayo, its looking like it will be cold at nite. We might burn alot of firewood. I am going to bring my side tent for my bus, it will be nice an warm in there. I am also trying to leave Friday Morning or if I am real lucky Thursday afternoon.

Music is awesome while driving a VW, but turn it down on occasion to listen to your bus.
