I agree, but the gallery for this software is not all that simple to use, prob why it was harldy used. I am looking into whether there are any plugins to make it easier.

Kewl thanks for the response Collie. I hope more people will utilize it because it's a far easier way for all Moonies to reminisce the campouts. I sure would utilize it to show pics of others and alls' kewl buses

I heard there was a moonie that would take your non running engine and sell you a rebuilt engine for a good price! can anyone point me in his direction?

Yep 13 turns is ok. Putting back by number of turns is just a general guide to get it close assuming it was aligned correctly before you started.

Howdy. So basically I need to 1 - clean up the yard a bit by thinning the herd, and 2 come up with reliable vehicles in excellent running shape. So before I put stuff on Samba and start dumping time and $$$ into one project or another I figured I'd throw everything up and see if anyone else wants to do some horse trading...I want to end up with a solid, reliable camper, which MUST have the upper bed for family camping, and a solid, reliable daily driver. Automatic camper would be a plus so the wife could drive it...
Here are the generals, PM for more specifics...
71 bus, 9 passenger, previously for sale here and owned by 2 Moonies previously...runs and drives fine, some rust in rockers & cab floor, but remarkably solid otherwise. Was driven here from coastal SC and runs fine. Turn signals, horn, and bad tires are the only thing keeping this from being a daily driver.
72 Jeep - expen$$$ve rebuild, has its own ad on here with pics & details
74 Bug - similar FMBC history as the 71, rebuilt engine, new brakes & tires, should be back to running great as soon as I get a chance to install the new fuel pump. Looks pretty good, but I'll be honest it has some RUST... in weird places. Not a great candidate for restoring, but a decent beater/driver...
77 Country Homes Camper - 4 speed with rebuilt 2.0, single carb, mostly runs ok but has some sputtering/dying issues, possible also fuel pump related. New brakes & bus rated tires. Has 74 blue plaid full-width Westy bed, CH straight up poptop, no other rear interior. I have a set of jalousies that can go with it, also 95% of a 77 Fuel Injection setup (missing brain, maybe a couple other small bits). This bus is ridiculously clean. Somehow the front doors are really rusty, but the doglegs, floors, and rockers are awesome. Some surface rust as visible, also looks like tree branch fell on front roof, dented luggage rack & roof, and windshield is cracked. Lip under windshield has a few pinholes, currently covered over. For this one to be a solid driver it needs fuel pump (I think) and probably a different carb setup as the single carb just won't dial in. Eventually you'd want to replace the windshield & seal also.
Would consider selling/trading without poptop/bed/tires also, so I could put that stuff on the 71.
Plus 1600 SP engine, NEW build with <40,000 miles, also has its own ad on here with specifics
So anyway, just kinda thinking for a bit before I decide which bus will be "the one" and hopefully get something ready for next year's camping season. Meantime I'm driving both busses seeing which one really wants to stay...:) I understand this is kinda random, and not much chance that someone is looking to double or triple their fleet, but ya never know. If no interest, no worries, will make up my mind and the rest go up for sale individually (would consider individual sales now as well, of course) Just figured I'd mention everything here first just in case...

Thanks...and that understanding only goes so far, which is why some of them must leave.

But yes, the bus came from Ronnie to CoffeeBus to me, Bug was Ian to Jeff to me, both part of the deal for my Thing this spring...
Swapped out the fuel pump last night and the bug is fine once again...
And thanks for the engine offer, but unfortunately I don't have anything to put it into right now...really need to focus on entire running vehicles, as per the understanding and loving better half.

maybe if I could sell of the other spare engine first, one seems hard enough to sell, don't think I want to try to sell 2.

similar story... i thought this was kinda funny... i was just looking through old pm's and i found one a year ago from Coffee saying he knew i liked 71s and he had this one for sale and he got it from Ronnie around last march! made me chuckle, i remember being at TROM and seeing Ronnie bring it in behind his Eurovan i think in tow... anyway i guess let me know a price on just the 71 i keep coming back to this bus for some reason(maybe the 9 seater) although i cant promise anything cause i was told by the misses we needed a poptop if i wanted her an the kids camping with me but i always have a curious spirit:D ill have to pass on the bug for now, if im going to spend money i dont need a yard full of cars again and i want another bus... b.

Ads going up on Samba as I get time today. Remember prices are ***MUCH LOWER*** with the FMBC discount, but with all the "negotiation" that goes on on Samba, you got to start high to end up with any wiggle room...

Dave - PM sent.
Jeff - no, been driving her, and just never got around to putting up a Samba ad. It took a while for the DMV to get the out of state/antique vehicle title/inspection mess all straight too, which the bus title came through a while before that one did...She's a good driver, but I do kinda miss my old diesel Rabbit...
