I couldnt find a library of the club vehicles so I would like to suggest something like What Are You Driving

I was wondering what everyone is driving and what thet are wotking on. Mostly so I could get an idea about all the different members and then so I could see what everyone is driving. You know whats neat, hip, cool, bad. im out of names maybe someone can take that further?
Ill even start. I dont name the vans so first is the 85, still working on it but it is the daily driver. The second is Lindas 87. I have to work on it but other than that I am not allowed to touch it and cant even park the 85 close. Both are original paint except mine has been "upgraded" with the application of bedliner paint, has a permament bra. Air conditioning works in both and both have weird owners with some sort of strange attachment to the vans.
If there is another place on the forum where this belongs or something new starting please let me know.

A J

crew cab & Jeep (Jeep for sale/trade, but still working on it)

Thing, which is *this* close to being a driver, if I can get the carb adjusted right & sorted out,
although it's still for sale/trade until I get too attached to it again
no pics of the surprise vehicle until it gets to my house and in running condition.

Meanwhile I'm driving an 81 Ford F100 daily. It was my wife's grandfather's truck and
still has maybe 62000 miles on it.
No pics that i can find, though...

Okay, we are a growing family. My wife drives a 2001 Passat, my daily driver is either the Pink Marauder, a 1994 s10 pick-up or "Vanna - White" our 1990 Vanagon GL, depends if i'm running late for work or have time to take my time and cruise to work. This weekend we pick up "Abby Rose"a 1987 vanagon and our first Westfalia! And possibly if things work out, the "Mexicali White" will be coming in soon too. What we are working on is a 1974 nightmare westfalia. Not a nightmare because of what she is but because of the amount of neglect she has seen.

dig the Passat wagon - my wife had a 99 V6 sedan which was awesome. We'd love to get a TDI wagon when prices finally get close to being affordable.

Paul.
I am a "confirmed" vanagon guy but after seeing the water cooled bay type bus I could switch, well at least concede that there are other vans that I would care to own. My wife loves the bay type vans but admits she loves the handling and the air conditioning of the vanagon.
Would you mind divulging a little information about your gem. I am just totally awestruck. What driveline, suspension, etc. Maybe some interior pics, I dont know about everyone else but that is one beautiful bus. Kudos on a great job done.

My wife loved the car to the point when we test drove it she cried when we had to return it to the dealer for the night. Now a year later after a few repairs she is ready to sell it and buy a chevy trailblazer, the trans just went in the S10 and it cost us $300 with the cost of a used trans. they wanted more then that to tune up her Passat. so if anybody is interested its a V6 GLX all wheel drive loaded car, she would like to get as close to $4800 as possible. or trade for a chevy trailblazer.

Janis ('73 ) is my daily driver - I have been starting to drive the 82 westy, but she has oil leakage problems. My wife drives the 2000 windstar to shuttle kids etc...the '65 13-w is a beast of a project which I will be digging into this winter.

Wow,pretty eclectic group. I am pleasantly surprised. I personally was thinking it was going to be pretty much "if it aint air cooled" I dont want it, but it seems as diverse a group as there is with the only common thread -- friendly.
Good to be a member of a good group of Volkswagen minded people.
I still think there should be a gallery section on the site. I know I really enjoyed looking at the array and I am sure others are as well. Can visitors access this thread?
Some really great vehicles and I am happy to see many drivers such as mine.

The paint is OG silver and the black is --bedliner--. I ground off all the rust pits in the front and in/on the side seams. Treated it with RustMort. Did inside of the seams with a dremmel tool with a cutting disk so I could get way down in there, figure the rustmort will take care of the rest, then applied the bedliner. Did the roof as well. The sun is a real killer here in Fl if you dont garage em.
Even though its black the bedliner actually helps keep the inside cooler, least it seems to. A plus he wash job is much easier now mostly just hose her down. No problem with bug splatter on the front either.
