Yep 13 turns is ok. Putting back by number of turns is just a general guide to get it close assuming it was aligned correctly before you started.

what do you know about tie rods it said put back on with same # of turns as taken off took off in 12 turns but takes 13 to put back on the locking nut is in same spot at the 13 turns is this ok need to know now

Has been a long time since this started but it is finally over. Have moved sent the van to Bug Haus for finishing and finally ready to take it home. Drove it briefly yesterday before the storms ripped through VA. Now have to do some finishing up in VA then drive her to PA. Took awhile and thanks to all that helped get another van back on the road.

The repairs consisted of used head, new muffler and a going through of the rest of it. Been a long time since I could turn the key and have it fire right up no gas no hesitation.

Get our house settled in PA and its time to camp!
