Kewl thanks for the response Collie. I hope more people will utilize it because it's a far easier way for all Moonies to reminisce the campouts. I sure would utilize it to show pics of others and alls' kewl buses

Yep 13 turns is ok. Putting back by number of turns is just a general guide to get it close assuming it was aligned correctly before you started.

Good Evening!

Has anyone else read the book Letters to Zerky? It is a book written from a father to a super young son named Zerky about their travels around the world in a VW bus back in the 1960's. I am about half way thru and think it is fantastic. It is compiled from the Dad's letters he wrote to his 1 year old son and his mother's journal... I am not ruining the story by mentioning that both the mother and Zerky died very shortly after returning to the USA.

So far, they have just crossed from Iran into Pakistan. NOT, repeat NOT, getting political here but it is interesting to see how much the world has changed from the 1960's to now in that part of the world.

I have been keeping a journal to my son Beaumont that I hope to turn into something in the future. I was thinking of a book except focusing solely on the USA, travels in our bus Kaya and the crazy life I lead (and recipes...). There is so much going on politically and economically in our country today... On our last trip to Southern Utah this last March I saw such economic devastation... towns that could of been ghost towns except three families still live in them.

Anyhow, really good read.

Aswah, Guys & Gals,
I'm glad you're liking my book. I hope the ending doesn't let you down. Let me know. By all means keep that journal. Beaumont will appreciate it some day.

I just got back from Southern Utah a few monthys ago. The area around Escalante is stunning, as are parts of Capital Reefs National Park. I think they are the perfect place to go in a VW camper.

It is a hard book to put down. I have been reading it late into the night and just grabbed it this morning while eating a croissant and drinking my morning joe. His commentary on the state of the world (i.e. cold war. Islam and travels thru a part of the world we probably can't/shouldn't travel at this moment in history). I read short segments while little Beaumont is still sleeping.

Bill, you should turn it into a movie! Thanks for a great read!
